Go for: Oysters and fish in their annual Fish Week.
The first visit to this understated pub was on recommendation. You could drive right by and not notice it from the roadside. We only ventured in for a drink however were so wooed by the menu for their annual Fish Week, when a table become free we quickly snapped it up.
The food didn’t disappoint. Delicious oysters three ways presented beautifully, followed by succulent monk fish cooked to perfection was a delight. The homemade bread, rapidity of courses and a great wine list helped. And even though the cramped dining room and terribly bright lighting was a little distracting, I vowed to be back with haste.
Second and third trips to The Sun Inn have more than disappointed, The menu has been static and flavours underwhelming. Even with charming service, I’ll not be back in a hurry.
